Well, it feels like I have met the modern day aviation equivalent to Yoda, or maybe my Obi-Wan Kenobi... This guy (Al Bowers) is absolutely one of the kindest and most genuine humans I have ever met. He brings new meaning to the words "good people."
I just got back from spending 3 days in California getting to know Al better and shooting some content for an educational video to help explain and expose his research to a wider audience - because let me just tell you, this dude has figured out something that will absolutely change the world. Everything from aviation and aircraft design to turbines and propellors, all the way down to ceiling fans and computer fans. There will come a day when everything that humans produce that has anything to do with flying or manipulating wind or steam or water will have been influenced by this work.
My role in all of this? Who knows... certainly not me... but I am so stoked to have met Al and can confidently call him a friend. I hope to help Al present his research by writing articles and speaking at events in the coming year, hopefully starting with the EAA OshKosh Airventure in July. Beyond that is anyone's guess... but for now it certainly feels like I just caught a huge wave and I have no idea where it might take me. :)
